Quality of Life
SAP Training and Certifications
The pace of SAP solution releases has significantly accelerated in recent years. This is accompanied by numerous innovations that disrupt our clients’ expectations and our role as integrators of digital solutions and technologies.
Applium’s aim is to stay ahead of these developments and always have that quarter-hour of lead time that allows us to advise and guide our clients. To this end, we strongly encourage
Applium consultants to engage in a continuous learning and training process. Every year, Applium offers its consultants training sessions at SAP. Since 2021, SAP has made all its training available in e-learning format, which aligns with employees’ expectations for more flexibility and their desire to avoid traveling to training centers.
All Applium employees who request it have access to the SAP Learning Hub, which provides access to all available SAP training, as well as 60 hours of practical work (SAP Live Access) and the opportunity to take two certifications. At SAP’s request, Applium encourages its employees to pursue certifications. These certifications, awarded on an individual basis, recognize acquired knowledge. Each certified employee receives a badge that is automatically available on the Credly site and can be shared on LinkedIn. These badges are added to employees’ CVs. Having employees with SAP certifications is a significant requirement from SAP.
SAP recommends that its clients work only with partners who have the appropriate certifications. It is planned that the certifications of SAP partner employees will be published on the SAP Partner Finder site, often used by clients and prospects to identify partners.
Applium consultants have the opportunity to extend their training on the internal sandbox environments available. Furthermore, because it is important to enhance skills in other areas, Applium also offers numerous non-SAP training sessions: improving English proficiency, learning to manage priorities, team management, public speaking, etc.
Team Spirit and Sharing
We expect every Applium consultant to take the time to help another Applium consultant when necessary.
A SAP consultant, no matter how experienced, often encounters new and complex situations. In such cases, being able to draw on the experience of consultants who have already faced similar situations allows for calm progress.
This is also a guarantee of efficiency and satisfaction for our clients. This openness and ability to share knowledge naturally is, in our view, a more important criterion than the level of SAP expertise.
The tools provided by Applium facilitate these exchanges for consultants spread across several Applium agencies and client locations.
Atmosphere and Friendliness
Numerous moments of conviviality, organized by management or employees, whether spontaneously or not, are frequently arranged: welcome parties or celebrations for anniversaries or business successes, either in Applium’s premises or externally, Christmas parties with gifts and activities for employees’ children, various evenings…
Applium employees also often participate in collective or individual sporting events (Color Run, marathons or half-marathons, pétanque tournaments, cycling races…).
Applium sponsors these events. Additionally, Applium organizes a prestigious multi-day event each year for all employees. The goal of this event is to enjoy good times together in unique locations.
Autonomy and Responsibility
Unlike some of our competitors, we want to grant Applium employees the greatest possible freedom regarding their daily tasks, management of their schedules, or proposing solutions to our clients. Taking initiative is always welcome, and the management of Applium has chosen to encourage and support it.
Our goal is not to dictate to consultants what they should do with each of their hours or to define their daily priorities.
We are also very attentive and open to any proposals or ideas from Applium employees. We believe that there are no bad ideas and that everyone should be able to express themselves. Many decisions made at Applium originate from an employee’s idea: launching a new offer, changing the organization, opening a new agency, decorating the premises…
We believe that this mode of operation and collaboration ensures belonging and performance. No matter how long you stay with Applium (the longer, the better we hope), we are confident that you will grow with us, both in terms of knowledge and expertise and in your role as a consultant.
We always strive to offer assignments aligned with our consultants’ expectations, both in terms of personal development and career planning.
Work-Life Balance
A company can only succeed and progress if its employees are fulfilled in their personal lives and find a good balance between their personal and professional lives.
In a world of increasing competition and pressure, we do our utmost to promote this balance and protect our employees. We regularly remind them that professional activity should not come at the expense of personal life. We do not hesitate to adapt certain assignments or make changes within projects to respect this balance. Flexible working hours and special arrangements can be made in this regard.
We are also fully open to part-time work, and many Applium employees work four-fifths.
Our presence in multiple cities in France also allows us to meet our employees’ mobility wishes. Several of them have moved from Paris to Bordeaux or Lyon. We always positively support these requests. This is why Applium promotes “1% housing” with three main partners:
- Action Logement,
- Humanis,
- Welc Home Immobilier. This last partner supports employees in their projects and greatly facilitates their administrative procedures.
Even new hires can receive assistance with their relocations.
What do you want to do ? What do you not want to do ?
Both questions are equally important. Together, we define a personalized career plan focused on the consultant’s choices. This plan is reviewed at least once a year and whenever the consultant requests it.
A marketing campaign for Applium released a few years ago had the slogan “Happy consultants make happy clients.” We remain firmly convinced of the truth of this statement.
Availability of Management
The three leaders of the company, Alix, Bertrand, and David, are in a constant process of recognition, kindness, and learning. “We guide you, but you also guide us.”
Let’s learn together from our experiences and align our resources with our common ambitions. This is what management wishes: to share a common project and grow together every day, fulfill our missions, and reach new heights.
Although experiencing significant growth, Applium aims to maintain a “Flat” hierarchy, ensuring that employees have no more than two levels of management: direct manager and management.
Communication
Employees in a company are naturally seeking information about the company’s life and its short- and long-term goals.
It is important that all employees are informed and involved in the company’s life, sharing a common level of information.
For this reason, Applium’s management has established several communication channels (emails, stand-up meetings, blogs, etc.) to share as much information as possible with its employees.
A plenary session is organized every three months to share key news regarding the company’s life.
A healthy work environment
We spend a large part of our lives at work.
Therefore, it is important to work in environments where we feel good, with all the necessary comfort.
We avoid overcrowded, noisy, and impersonal office spaces. We prefer modern or designer furniture and soft, eco-friendly LED lighting instead of traditional fluorescent lights.
Baskets of fruit are delivered weekly to the various offices.
When the facilities allow it, we provide relaxation rooms and showers for the many athletes at Applium.
Certifications of Applium employees
Some consultants and project managers also have additional certifications (ITIL, PMP, Prince2, etc.), managed through an internal tool supervised by HR and management. Each year, 20% to 30% of Applium’s functional and technical consultants obtain SAP certifications in the following categories:
- SAP Certified Development Associate
- SAP Certified Technology Associate
- SAP Certified Consultant
- SAP Certified Application Associate
- SAP Certified Integration Associate
- SAP Certified Technology Professional
