Applium, a French specialist in SAP solution integration, takes a new step in its development by opening a subsidiary in Portugal. After two successful years, Applium is expanding internationally and chooses Lisbon as its gateway.
“Several destinations were considered, but the choice quickly settled on Portugal. Less than 3 hours flight from Paris, Portugal has a significant ecosystem of experienced SAP consultants and an excellent higher education system. The level of English language proficiency is remarkable, and French remains an important language,” explains Alix Ponsada, CEO of Applium.
The opening of this Portuguese subsidiary aims primarily to reinforce teams dedicated to SAP projects and Third-Party Application Maintenance (TMA) for Applium's French clients. The functional and technical consultants from Applium Portugal will provide their expertise to support these clients in their migration projects to SAP S/4HANA and the digitization of their business processes. Bertrand Dalaison, President of Applium, emphasizes, “Our primary goal is to better serve our 80 SAP clients in France. In 2022, despite the addition of over 30 new employees, we had to postpone several client projects, which is unsatisfactory.” The French company does not rule out offering its services to Portuguese SAP clients in the future.
Baptiste Gonçalves has been chosen to lead the Applium Portuguese subsidiary. With a strong background as a consultant, project manager, and service manager within major SAP integrators in France and Portugal, Baptiste brings valuable expertise to the team. The Applium team is excited about this new expansion milestone and wishes Baptiste much success. All of the Applium France teams are mobilized to support him in this international adventure. David Cairat, Deputy CEO, concludes by explaining, “We don't exclude that this first international experience might lead to others in the near future, likely outside of Europe.”
